The following are the different morphological features of malignant infiltrated cervical lymph node detected by modern USG:
- Round shape
- short axis diameter of 8mm or more.
- Heterogeneous echo-texture
- Cystic or necrotic areas
- No echogenic (fatty) hilum
- Ill defined margins
- Invasion of surrounding tissues
