Q. WHAT IS LYMPHOEPITHELIOMA?

  • In the past NPC was referred to as malignant lymphoepithelioma because of the presence of heavy lympocytic infiltration at the site of the tumour.
  • EBV is lymphotropic but it’s action is restricted to the B lymphoctes which are found in abundance in the lymphoepithelium of the nasopharynx.
