The following are the indication of the embolization of skull base tumours:
- as an adjuvant to tumour resection in order to reduce operative blood loss and facilitates surgery.
- To arrest or impede tumour growth when lesion are inoperable and radiotherapy inappropriate and then provide symptomatic relief.
- To devascularize and shrinkage of tumours and relieve symptoms
- For intracranial chemotherapy, selective catheterization of a feeding artery aiming to maximize the amount tumour receive and reducing the systemic toxicity.
- To asses collateral blood supply prior to surgical or endovascular ligation.
